Presentation
In an age of economic globalisation, how do business exchanges take place in situation of uncertainty when the state is missing or unable to guarantee basic institutional trust? This question will be addressed through the study of clothing, one of the most emblematic sectors of the global economy, in two important African business hubs. Through a comparative ethnographic approach, this research will be able to track many commonalities regarding the questions of trust, border crossing, transnational economic exchanges and trade diaspora.
