2025-2026 CALL FOR APPLICATIONS
The Foundation awards research grants to PhD students from Cambridge University and DPhil students from Oxford University who wish to spend up to one year at the Université libre de Bruxelles to undertake part of their doctoral research.
PhD students from ULB can also apply for one-year research grants to go to Oxbridge.
These non-renewable grants are open to doctoral candidates from all fields.
Applicants must be registered as PhD students at Cambridge University or DPhil students at Oxford University.
The fellowship cannot be awarded for the first year of doctoral research.
Fellows are selected by the Scientific Committee of the Foundation.
HOW TO APPLY
The applicant’s complete file is composed of the application form with its five annexes and two letters of reference. The application guidelines are available by downloading the documents below.
Incomplete applications will not be considered.
DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS
Applications for the 2025-2026 academic year must be sent by Monday 2 December 2024 (noon Belgian time) to the address fwa@ulb.be
The results will be communicated in February.

FUNDING
€ 2.000 per month (minimum stay of 6 months and maximum stay of 12 months, between 15 September 2025 and 15 September 2026).
The fellowship is paid at the end of the month.
The Foundation will also cover the TLS visa center administrative fees and the fees related to the ULB International Certificate in doctoral research training (CIRD).
