Chair 2008 – 2009

In 2008-2009 the Chair was held by Kalypso Nicolaïdis, Professor or International Relations and Director of the European Studies Centre at Oxford. She was invited on the recommendation of Professor Mario Telò, President of the Institute for European Studies, and of Professor François Foret, Director of the Political section of the Institute.

The subject of the course was “Eutopia – On the Idea and Practice of Europe as a Model”. The opening lecture, delivered on March, 23 2009, was entitled: “Mon UEtopie: Réflections sur la démoi-cracie Européenne, la puissance médiatrice et l’agenda post-colonial”.
