On Thursday 18 April the Académie royale de Belgique will host the workshop “Sailors, Traders, Settlers and Potters: Interactions and Exchanges in the Ancient Mediterranean”, organised in the framework of the ULB-Oxford research project “Crete and Euboea in an interconnecting world (from the 12th to 6th century BC): The role of coastal settlements in short and long-distance networks of exchange”. This is one of nine collaborative projects supported by the Fondation Wiener-Anspach for the 2022-2024 period.

The project, directed by Professors Athena Tsingarida (CReA-Patrimoine, ULB) and Irene Lemos (School of Archaeology, University of Oxford), has given rise to a series of seminars and conferences, the first part of which was organised in Oxford from January to March 2023. All papers will be published in a collective work.

The full programme and practical information about the workshop are available on the CreA-Patrimoine website. To attend (in Brussels or online), please register by 30 March at the latest via this form.
