Three of our 2022-2023 Postdoctoral Fellows – David Talukder, Edward Lee-Six and Thomas Legein – recently addressed the subject of their research in the journals European Conference on Politics and Gender and Politique.

David Talukder (PhD in Political and Social Sciences, ULB) published an article titled “Challenging assumptions: Investigating measurement sensitivity in substantive representation and its effects on policy satisfaction”, based on his research at the University of Cambridge under the supervision of Dr Roberto Foa (Department of Politics and International Relations). The article can be accessed on the European Conference on Politics and Gender website.

The September issue of the Belgian quarterly journal Politique brings together our two other Fellows. In an interview titled “MR : bye bye le libéralisme”, Thomas Legein (PhD in Political Sciences, ULB) analyzes the recent transformation of the Belgian political party Mouvement réformateur. Dr. Legein recently completed his postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Cambridge, where he worked on his research project “Perception and party dynamics: toward a psychological approach to the causes of party reforms”, under the supervision of Dr Lee De Wit (Department of Psychology).

In his article “Verhaeren, poète du peuple,” Edward Lee-Six (PhD in French and English Literature, University of Cambridge) provides an engaged portrait of the poet at the heart of his research at ULB. Dr Lee-Six has been granted an extension of his postdoctoral fellowship, allowing him to continue his research on “Emile Verhaeren at the cross-roads of Belgian symbolism and English romanticism” under the supervision of Prof. Clément Dessy (Faculty of Letters, Translation and Communication).
