Chair 1999 – 2000

In 1999-2000 the chair was held by Anne Deighton, Reader in European International Politics and Fellow of Wolfson College, University of Oxford, on the recommendation of Professor Eric Remacle, Director of the Institute for European studies.

The opening lecture, delivered on May 2, 2000, was entitled: “Why History Matters: European Integration Past and Present”.
