On October 11, 2024, the Wiener-Anspach Alumni Network had the opportunity to visit the Belgian Constitutional Court as part of a guided tour led by three distinguished hosts, including two former Fellows of the Foundation.

The participants were welcomed by Jean Spreutels, Honorary President of the Court, Emmanuelle Bribosia, one of its six French-speaking judges, and the French-speaking référendaire Mathilde Rousseau. They presented the history and functions of the institution while guiding the group through three of its key rooms: the courtroom, the deliberation room, and the reception hall.

In 1975-1976, Jean Spreutels was among the first Belgian Fellows of the Foundation to travel to the University of Cambridge, where he obtained a Diploma in Legal Studies. An Honorary Professor of Law at the ULB, he is also a Trustee of our Foundation. Mathilde Rousseau was granted a Wiener-Anspach fellowship in 2010-2011 to complete an LLM in Law at the University of Cambridge. Since August 2023, she has been serving as one of the French-speaking référendaires of the Constitutional Court. Emmanuelle Bribosia is also connected to our Foundation, having been the first laureate of the Ganshof van der Meersch Prize, awarded by the FWA since 1994 to a ULB student who has completed a Master’s degree in Law, specializing in public and international law, and who has an exemplary academic record.

The Wiener-Anspach Alumni Network would like to thank them again for such an engaging and informative visit.
