The Wiener-Anspach Foundation is happy to announce that the 2019/2020 Ganshof van der Meersch Prize has been awarded to Helena Placentino. The prize was created in 1994 to honour the memory of Professor W. J. Ganshof van der Meersch and celebrate his contribution to Belgian and European Constitutional Law as well as the decisive role he played in the development of the Foundation. It rewards the merits of a student with an exemplary academic record and who earned their Master of Law degree at the ULB, specializing in public and international law.
Helena Placentino studies law, with a focus on European law, public international law, and their interaction. She has taken part in projects such as the ULB Equality Law Clinic, specialized in non-discrimination law, and has spent six months in China in 2019 in the framework of an exchange programme. She is now enrolled in the Specialized Master in European Law at the Institute for European Studies at the ULB.
